The Albemarle County Fire Rescue (ACFR) Technical Rescue Team is based at Fire Station 11, and has many operational capabilities including high and low angle rescue, light and heavy vehicle extrication, straight wall trench collapse, and confined space & machinery rescue.

Fitness Center open for public use.  

The Yancey Fitness Center is a state-of-the-art exercise space for county residents (age 15 or older) to work out in a cool & pleasant, supervised atmosphere.

Weekly volunteer gardening session in collaboration with the Piedmont Master Gardeners. Volunteers welcome.

Harvesting tomatoes, mulching garden paths, clearing raised beds for fall plantings, clearing Heart and Love Boxes for new Fall floral plantings.
